I initially wanted to start writing a blog for professional reasons. As an independent consultant, I thought it would be nice to be able to point prospective clients and co-workers to what I'm currently thinking about the work that I do. My expertise is in evaluating, recommending and designing the best user experiences for online web and mobile applications, including doing baseline user research, usability studies, information architecture, functional recommendations, strategy and interaction design.
Unfortunately, there are lots of blogs out there already that cover user experience, usability and all of the myriad variations on the theme. Since I also like to cook and bake and eat out at restaurants, I thought it might be interesting if I applied my user experience (UX) skills to all things food. Thus this blog. The standard disclaimer: I'm not a professional chef/cook and I don't purport to be one. So use the recipes here with your best judgment and skills.
If you are interested in hiring me as a consultant for short or long term projects, you can get in touch with me at kimmcg at the email service that Google created.
